Carolina International School is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and collaborative School Finance & Business Office Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of our K–12 public charter school.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeping, accounting, or business-office professional who enjoys meaningful work in a professional, team-oriented school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Officer and play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, supporting audits, and helping our business office operate efficiently.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities will include:

Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Receive, receipt, account for, and prepare deposits of school funds.

Prepare invoices, payment documentation, and other financial records.

Maintain organized and accurate financial files and supporting documentation.

Assist with reconciliation and routine bookkeeping functions.

Prepare accounting, fiscal, statistical, and administrative reports.
-
Support internal financial controls and established business-office procedures.

Assist the Finance Officer in preparing documentation for annual and external audits.

Enter, review, and maintain information in financial and school-related systems.

Provide general business-office and administrative support as needed.

Perform other related duties that support the effective operation of the school.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:

An associate degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, accounts payable/receivable, or business-office operations.

Experience in a school, charter school, nonprofit, governmental, or similar business environment is preferred.

Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.

Experience with Microsoft Word and other common office applications.

Experience with PowerSchool or other K–12 information systems is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Ability to manage confidential financial and personnel-related information appropriately.

Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.

Ability to follow established procedures while independently managing assigned responsibilities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

A positive, professional approach to working with colleagues, families, vendors, and community partners.
